ܡܲܦ̈ܠܵܬܼܵܐ

Mâplatha (Prepositions)

The letters BDOL ܒ ܕ ܘ ܠ are called ܐܵܬܘܵܬܼ̈ܵܐ ܕܒܕܘܠ or Mâp-latha because they 'fall' before, or precede a word and modify its signification.

A preposition is any letter ܒ ܕ ܘ ܠ used before a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase to show direction, time, place, location, spatial relationships, or to introduce an object. Some examples of prepositions are words like in, at, on, with, by, of, and to.
